WELCOME TO THE TEAM - TOM CALDER - Thursday 31st January 2013

Wollen Michelmore has continued its commitment to providing career paths for locally-born lawyers with the recruitment of another new rising star.

The leading South Devon law firm has a long-standing record for spotting local talent and offering exciting opportunities that mean bright young lawyers don’t automatically have to develop their careers in London.

Tom Calder has lived in South Devon nearly all his life and studied law at Reading University, completing his Legal Practice Course at Plymouth University.

He has joined Wollen Michelmore’s Private Client Department as a solicitor at their Newton Abbot office and will be specialising in the drafting of Wills, the administration of estates, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Tom said: “After university in Reading I was keen to return to the South West. It’s a tough time for law graduates and I feel very fortunate to have joined a firm such as Wollen Michelmore which has such a strong commitment to giving us excellent opportunities and a career path.”

Katrina Vollentine, head of the private client department at Wollen Michelmore, commented: “Tom’s arrival is good news for our clients, and the team as a whole. We are always looking to improve our service to our clients and the calibre of our team, and Tom has fitted very well into the department.”

Wollen Michelmore managing partner Chris Hart said: “Wollen Michelmore is proud of its long tradition of service to clients and now has one of the largest private client departments in the south west and an excellent dispute resolution team. The firm is committed to raising and maintaining high standards of advice and personal service in all areas of its work and Tom looks set to be a great asset to our team.”
